ok this is some years after the last post
I just got an A-Bike (copy sorry all with 8" wheels)
and while I looked at other bikes and new the A-bike was only for short runs.. and it might be twitchy to get used to it..

I can fit 2 of them in the boot of my 2003 MINI Cooper With the Boot cover in place!!!

cant do that with ANY OTHER FOLDING BIKE!!!!

Carryme was too LONG
Strida was too long!!
Dahon .. well forget it!
any other would have forced me to fold down the seat and have the back fully open and in view

Amuro, your my photo hero. Love your photos allowing us
to compare these small bikes from many angles.

Another thing I want to compare is how they behave for us who have never used one.

I will be able to test a Strida 3.2 now tomorrow Sunday so I need to go
to bed very soon so I am awake when the Bike shop opens. :)

I will test it indoors cause they have made a kind of small velodrome in
their shop. Not like riding outside but enough to get a decent feel for how
I manage to keep my balance on it.

I could have bought some 2 or 3 Strida original for only 1500SEK which is
very cheap but they are so old. I didn't dare to.

If I buy the Strida 3.2 now tomorrow is an open issue until I've tested to
ride it first.

I could afford to own both Strida and Carryme but I am by nature a bit
careful when it comes to spending money.

Should I buy it just for the fun of owning one? Tomorrow I know what I
choice I made. Just now I have no idea. I long for to own a Carryme and
most of all a Carryall but they get in production late at summer so such a
long time to wait for it. I want to buy one now.

Let me compare CarryMe with A-bike briefly.

Performance:
The running speed, stability, rideability and sturdiness of CarryMe are much better than A-bike.

Foldability:
The speed and convenience of folding of A-bike are much better than CarryMe. It takes about 10 seconds to fold or unfold an A-bike and my neighbor takes 1 minute to unfold and secure all the locks of his CarryMe DS each time because he rides his CarryMe DS in a very high speed, so he needs some time to fine tune the seat post & handle bars and he also has to confirm all the locks have been secured firmly before he rides on it. Normally, it takes about 30 seconds to fold or unfold a CarryMe.
Here are the videos showing the folding and unfolding procedures of A-bike and CarryMe:

Weight:
A-bike weighs about 5.5kg and CarryMe DS weighs 8.8kg including the ATS speed-drive.

Portability:
You can carry the folded A-bike by grasping the stem and take it everywhere or put it into the rucksack;
The folded CarryMe has trolley wheels at the bottom so you can drag the folded CarryMe on smooth grounds.

Folded Size:
The folded size of A-bike is 67cm x 30cm x 16cm;
The folded size of CarryMe is 89cm x 30cm x 27cm.

Storage:

When A-bike encountered CarryMe DS

My neighbor, Burningwood changed his CarryMe to a CarryMe DS recently.
One day, my A-bike encountered his CarryMe DS on the ground floor below my apartment...
