The folding bicycle magazine A to B will start distributing digitally. The trial issue includes their review of the A-Bike. It is available at http://www.exacteditions.com/shop/392/428.

I disagree with the review. I bought a micro scooter ages ago and, assuming you are not going down a hill, as soon as you kicked off with your foot you are slowing down. It is obvious that the A-Bike has a wider range of use than a micro-scooter. Comparing it to bicycles with larger wheels is not really a valid comparison.

I thought I was by posting the negative reviews
I admit the small wheels make the A-Bike very sensitive to surface conditions, which is why I thought it was madness to launch it in the UK which must have some of the oldest and worst maintained roads and pavements in the world.

The sooner it gets sold in places like Japan, Korea, Singapore etc the sooner it will find its market.

I think Sinclair may have been overly cautious though because they don't seem to have manufactured enough in the first production run to go for worldwide domination. You would have thought they'd have arranged distributors in all countries before launching it.

Anyway, it's good news that the sales have been promising so far. I expect they will make design modifications in a year or two. i.e. better mudguards. but I suppose they don't want to increase the headline weight of the bike too much.

Very old reviews on A to B Magazine

Postby Amuro Lee on Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:15 am

I've just found these very old reviews (4 years ago) of A-bike on the issue 55 of A to B Magazine:

  • Ear to the Ground (p.5 to p.7)
  • The Trial: A-bike vs Mobiky Genius (p.22 to p.30)

Nice sharing with us! However , be aware that "A to B" is not really a magazine. It is more, some sort of propaganda for the Brompton bike. Really the most biased articles ever read in my life. Even many Brompton owners no longer take notice of what it says.
