Folds in 10 seconds?

Postby leonarhodo on Mon Oct 16, 2006 4:20 am

Hi everyone,
Can you actually fold or unfolud your A-Bike in 10 seconds?
My fastest record is still 11 seconds only.
Do I need to practice more?
I think 15 seconds is easy.

This is my latest video.

Great Great

Wow. Hello Leonarhodo,
I can fold and unfold in 12 seconds, yet.

Anyway, your video is very interesting!!
At 21th Sept., the London A-bikeBoy(John) said that he can fold/unfold his A-bike while on the move. When I introduced his diary, our Korean members deeply hoped to see the action movie.
Now, you have shown this!! You didn't move but we can imagine the action.

Very Thanks.

PS. Oh! You are the most friendly guy to me among us, geographically.

Hi Binch Shin,
Your name is famous here and !'m glad to hear from you!
Yes, I saw John's post regarding the "fold/unfold his A-bike while on the move" and tried to do it. Also I already have succeeded in folding my A-Bike while moving, but it was not so easy as unfolding.

Thanks.

Hi Leonarhodo,

No, I think I am about 12 seconds.
The pedals seem to take the longest for me.

I like your video, especially as you you to unfold your bike
so casually.

It is interesting that you pull the 'legs' of the bike
apart, rather than bounce the wheels on your shoe,
as per the instructions. I bounce the wheels on my
knee to spread the legs apart.

Hi John,

It is true that sometimes the pedals takes longest.
If we can fold/unfold the pedals quicker, the time will be reduced.

>I bounce the wheels on my knee to spread the legs apart.
Oh, it seems to be cool!
I will try to do in the same way.

Thanks

Hmm, the video *is* interesting. Why is there a bit missing in the middle? At the 14-15 second mark there is a 'jump-cut' where a bit has bit cut out of the video for some reason :)

Also, you don't lock the crossbar ..it isn't even locked in place as you move off. Isn't that a bit dangerous? :)

Hi Izzard,
Thanks for watching my video very carefully.
First of all, this is not the instructions for unfolding the A-bike but just a SHOW.
Yes, you are right!
I will tell you the truth that I lost some seconds in folding the pedals then edited the video.

You can see the original non edit version here.

Crossbar should be locked before riding as you pointed out, but this time locked automatically?

Also you may refer to this video.

Unfold record?

Postby fcolaco on Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:28 pm

Well, I guess you start getting quicker after doing it a few times without thinking in beating the world records. As I said in other posts, I keep walking while releasing the fast release clips and unfold the pedals, the wheels only hit the floor for the last "spreading the legs(wheels)" part.
I actually re-lock the clips after I am rolling already, but I guess I should stop doing that maybe. Even in my first fold/unfold video (link below on signature), on the very first day the bike arrived, I didn't took that long to do it, even if i look a little bit unsecure about where to grab next :)

By the way I just dedicated an A-Bike category on my blog and I am going to have more videos/photos/comments there soon. Check the link on my signature.
