Using a bigger bag for better speed and balance.

Postby kenwshmt2 on Sat May 26, 2007 9:33 pm

I had been trying to get higher sustained speeds on the bike course I use, but at speeds faster than 14 mph in a hard pedal, the bike bag is floppy and throws off my rhythm.

I got a larger bike bag with two shoulder straps and two cross straps. This bag is big enough to hold the smaller bike bag, so I won't loose any utility. besides, I need all it contains, and its additional weight.

Its been raining here, so no testing for a few days.

I know that if I can maintain my balance, the bike is stable to faster than 18 mph. I do expect to be able to maintain a 13 mph cruise.

It works.
My sustainable speed is 15 mph with the new back pack. the back pack is no longer a variable when trying to keep the bike at a high speed.

I had my first good ride in weeks, as I was able to pedal stronger and not be concerned about loosing balance from the back pack.
