Replacing the front wheel would be smaller and neater than messing around with extra gears and chains.
Hmmm maybe, but looking on that page, the "Shrinker" electric folding bike looks interesting:

Not a bad price for a powered folding bike.
I think I'm about done with the A-Bike as a commute option. San Francisco has too many pot holes.
I just bought at new Pedego Unbrella 16 (Electric Folding bike) Today. It handles SO nice, and goes really fast. I can still and will pedal for exercise don't worry. (and to assist hills) It goes up STEEP hills even very amazing bike. The other thing is now I can skip Muni/Subway all together and ride 3.4 miles via this bike directly. (I'll save time, way easier, nice comfortable ride) I'm also getting a removable basket so I can grocery shop with this thing. When it's folded up you can still push it around very easily. (doesn't get in the way of the basket) This thing folds and unfolds in 1 (yes ONE) second!!!
I can't find a very good video but this one shows the Umbrella one in the middle.
(after the beach cruisers)

I bought mine from:

in San Francisco. The shop is ONE block from my office even nice.
I'll be adding a new iPhone holder/charger even.

I'll be keeping my A-Bike as a fun show and tell toy pretty much. It was worth a shot to use this as my commute vehicle but I'm now an Electric Bicycle fan.
