Official distributors and shops in each country

Postby Garry on Fri Nov 23, 2007 6:57 pm

Hello everyone.

I'd like to compile a definitive list of the official suppliers and shops selling genuine A-Bikes in each country to help our readers. I've seen various distributors mentioned in various topic posts, but let's try and collect them all together here, and I'll make it sticky, and add the list to the "Where to buy an A-Bike" page.

So please post any company details here with their website address, thanks!

UK shop details required

Postby Garry on Sat Nov 24, 2007 4:44 pm

Ok, we already know about Mayhem as the official UK distributor. But perhaps they would like to confirm if they officially cover any other countries?

And now that other countries have distributors, will Mayhem still supply mail-order to anywhere in the world, or are there restrictions?

Selfridges used to sell the A-Bike in their Oxford Street shop gadget section, but that seems to have disappeared now! Please send me any sightings of A-Bikes in shops recently, and do Mayhem have an official list?

One other thing, Mayhem have confirmed the official support site is:

As far as I know, Mayhem refuses to supply mail-order to Hong Kong and Mainland China. :(

This is copied from a Hong Kong bike forum:
Dear Mr xxxx,

I am sorry to tell you that as the actual address is in Hong Kong
we will not be able to supply the goods you have ordered.
Your card has been refunded today.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

UK, Hong Kong, China, and Japan, they have what can I call them..err main supplier (i.e. Mayhem, MHM, Daisaku) for each, so the one cannot ship their product to the other country where has their own A-bike main supplier. I'm not sure about other European A-bike sellers (e.g. Netherland) are related with Mayhem UK or on their own management.

UK online shop 'Firebox' sells official A-bikes supplied by Mayhem UK. (I comfirmed it with Mayhem the other day.) :D

Tokyu Hands Shibuya

(I am not sure if it's mentioned on the web site because it's in Japanese and perhaps people interested in A-bike are English-speakers like me. It's weird that the http://www.abike-uk.com/ about an English invention does not have English language available. A-bikes are also superb for people who travel a lot on trains and planes or even need to post home their bike, such as gaijin in Japan! So for those who want to know, try Tokyu Hands. They also said they can service the bike and replace any parts that get damaged and they will honour the warranty).

A-bike accessories in Japan

Postby sonic-yoshi on Sun Nov 25, 2007 6:01 am

Further to my previous post, I found that Mayhem cannot send accessories, fan products or parts to Japan. Does anyone know who does sell after-sales objects in Japan? pen/T-shirt/bag/inner-tubes/tyres? Thnx

More advertising required.

I only 'discovered' the A-Bike by accident, I was holding a car-boot-sale and happened to look over the way to see how other vendors were doing, and maybe see a bargain for my self, I keep telling my self you are here to make money not spend it! Any way I spotted a young lad riding a bike that got my attention. When I got home and after some searching on the internet I found it was none other than a Sinclair A-Bike.

In order to sell something first people have to know about it!

Why no sellers, as I understand it, other than in London? I know it has more people there who may find good use for it, but here in Scotland we may have a use for it as well, and I'm not just speaking about Glasgow or Edinburgh, people in Aberdeen, Perth, Inverness... We buy things as well!

I think Daisaku Shoji Ltd. in Japan is responsible for that.

Just confirmed by Matt Chapman, the Head Designer of Mayhem UK Ltd, that there're distribution agreements that Maythem cannot ship A-bikes or A-bike parts to Hong Kong or China. :P

Matt wrote:Hello Amuro,

Unfortunately it appears as though we did not receive your order, but your payment was processed by our secure payment system.

Due to the current conflicting distribution agreements concerning the official Sir Clive Sinclair A-bike, we cannot ship A-bikes or A-bike parts to Hong Kong or China.

We have refunded the amount that was taken from your card and apologise for any inconvenience.

Regards

Matt

Sweden. First impression. I have not made deep research.

Postby Weakling on Thu Dec 06, 2007 10:33 pm

The official dealer in my country is A-bike.se Sweden.

Got confirmed by a phone call to them that he is the recognized dealer for Sweden.

http://www.a-bike.se/

Physical Address
A-bike.se
Söderbergavägen 7
163 46 Spånga
Sverige

Email address is obfuscated to not spam him:
info at a-bike dot se

His phone is +46 8 51710385

Dealer no 2: are maybe not a dealer but a private person who didn't know of A-bike.se He is maybe sell without being authorized to do it.

Peter +46 737 42 62 88 (which is a Mobile Phone number so only make a phone call if you are prepared to pay for the mobile taxing. )

The Blocket.se site have an email function so one could reach him through them but as far as I know they don't give the email address out, they only relay our email.

http://www.blocket.se/vi/13746143.htm?ca=23_11_s&last=1

Blocket is like Ebay but for Swedes. The most popular of our sites for selling and buying online for us ok Eniro.se is maybe bigger but such info is not important. :)

Those who feel for legal issues could look into it. Me don't.
Peter says he has still some ten A-bikes to sell. He doesn't tell how many he has been able to sell yet.

Peter take a really low price. Compare price with the known Official Dealer.

Official Prices during Introduktion:

2495:-

Ordinary price: 3295:- SEK

[Erbjudandet gäller t.o.m. 2007-12-31]

Peter says:

Butiks pris 3295 kr

I take 1500 SEK+ Shipment (300 SEK)= 1800 SEK

700 SEK less than the official dealer. That is a bargain if it is the original.
