Swivel-Head technology was initially licensed by Ming Cycle.
The rights were recently returned to MAS Design, allowing this new Partnership with Pacific Cycles.

Mark Sanders, MAS Design Managing Director comments “there has been
huge response from end users keen to buy bikes with this folding technology,
and although I am sorry these potential customers will have to to wait
a little longer – they will benefit from Pacific-Cycles" superb engineering
and quality. I am delighted to be working with George and Michael Lin,
who are legendary for their innovations and have exciting plans for
Swivel-Head technology, and bikes”.


Yes I agree that the folding has features that is good.
I could accept 20" as a compromize between comfortable
riding on our roads here. I use a bike with 12" now and
it is a bit on the too small size for me. I accept it but it is
not the optimal size when riding. But still big when folded.

So I see why George Lin chose 8" for Carryme and the
designer of A-bike chose even 6" to make it small enough.

Compared to a Brompton you could use standard wheels
but all depends on how big packages that the "commuting"
companies allow us "commuters" to have when we fold.


Amuro, I 'm so bad at reading text. What does this "IF" stand for.
swivel has been changed to "IF" but what words are that short for?

IF probably refers to Integrated Fold or something like that.

I think that the Pacific bikes are primarily riding bikes with the ability to fold, so the the new Swivel Head technology will increase the folding capability and hopefully not compomise on the ride.

As mentioned, I bought a Pacific Reach and it rides just like a good road bike, is very comfortable and lightweight (comparatively). It's folding mechanism is far from optimal and more fit for easy storage or cargo transportation than commuter foldability, but I think they sacrifice a compact fold for big bike engineering.

Of course they also have the CarryMe which is possibly one of the best small wheel folders available.
