Removing the rear wheel?

Hi, I have a genuine A-bike but the tyres were only pumpede to 30psi when it arived. I pumped the front tyre up to 90psi no problem. The rear tyre valve was not aligned properly (not poking out enough) to get the pump attached to inflate it properly (very anoying). The only way to fix this is to remove the rear wheel & deflate fully & re-alighn the valve.

My problem is I can only get one bolt out (right hand one) the other is well & truely stuck.

I have looked at the forums & it says the manual is wrong? & I do not understand the explenations? is the left hand bolt turned clockwise or counter clockwise?

I don't think you have to remove the rear wheel to inflate the rear tyre.
However, the inner tube will be torn easily if you pull out the valve too much when you are inflating the tyre, so I recommend you to use a pump with hose.

I have a pump with a hose but as thye valve was not in the corect position attaching the pump is not posible (it is to close to the hub).

I need to take of the rear wheel & the left hand bolt wont budge at all.

I am going to try to spray it with WD40 to loosen it, but I would like to know if it is definately clockwise I need to turn it?

Could you post a photo here showing the valve position of the rear wheel of your A-bike?

I managed to get my rear wheel off by following the video on the A-bike support group.

The left hand bolt turns clockwise not anti clockwise as stated in the instruction book.


Very anoying as in trying to get the wheel off I was holding the tyre & ripped the valve of my innertube! you MUST hold the wheel or this will happen.

I now have to wait for a new innertube & the fiddly bussiness of changing it untill I can try my new A-bike, very frustrating.

I still don't think you have to take off the rear wheel in order to inflate the rear tyre of your A-bike.

I think for ape in this case, the rear tyre just needed to be deflated in order to get the valve out from the hole on the rear wheel, and we don't need to use air pump to deflate --- we just need to use something like pen to push the pin in the centre of the valve to deflate.
