Weight carrying Capacity

Postby triple7driver on Tue Jun 23, 2009 3:08 pm

Hello to all,
I am curious to hear how the A-Bike is fairing amoungst those of us who are in excess of the 85kg limit ? I tried to send Amuro a PM but kept getting a recipent fail message. I tip the scales at circa 100kg (not that I'm proud of that or anything) and after reading Amuro's post thought that maybe there was a chance of this bike working for me especially in light of the supposedly strengthened MK 2.
Thanks,
Randy

Hi Randy,

Here in the Netherlands the weight limit is set at 95kg, so 10kg more than the limit in Britain.
I don't know the reason for this, but I'm very happy they did it since I'm 92kg.

My saddle broke last friday though.
But I didn't like it anyway, so I bought another one and a slightly longer seatpost.
Feels much sturdier now!

did you manage to find a 22.5mm post or will a slightly larger one fit?

The original seatpost is marked 25.2mm.
I couldn't find that size, so I tried 25.4mm (slightly wider).
This is a tight fit.

Now I need to readjust the bolt of the seatpostclamp, but that is the one obscured by another bolt..
The obscuring bolt doesn't want to give yet.
In another topic on this forum someone suggest using a ballhead hex key, to be able to work around the obscuring bolt.
Good idea, but I don't have a ballhead hex key.
