Georgia's Cycling laws

Post by Amuro Lee on Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:44 pm

On Wednesday, May 11, 2011, Governor Nathan Deal signed new bicycle legislation into law. This bill requires drivers to move over at least three feet when passing cyclists. The law means that motorists must cross the yellow line to pass legally (when the oncoming lane is clear, of course). Prior to the adoption of House Bill 101, state law required only that drivers leave a safe distance between their vehicle and bicycles.
