I plan to buy the Carryme and that one use an 8" inch wheel.
So if they made a bigger A-bike with the same wheel as Carryme have
and if they made it strong enough to carry my 95KG pr 210lb then I
would buy it.

I prefer to buy the original if they changed mind and actually cared about us tall and heavy but as Amuro and others have pointed out. IIRC they interviewed the designer and he said they have already decided to never ever do such a bike so this is very unfortunate.

The Copyists and Fakers are tempting us with the bigger wheels.

If they are able to produce it so could A-bike ask them to do it on license agreement.

Why does the A-bike force us to consider a faked one that have the spec we wants? It seems rude to me.

They have the sign "Sold Out " now for a long time on their homepage.

That shows there is a demand and if they upped the spec then even more people could buy it.

The problem with fakers are that they rather give two bikes away for same price than care about customers.

They know their versions are of a much lesser quality.

I wish we could find enough people using the copy using 8" wheels and ask how often they use it and how heavy and how rough they drive it and about any sign of breaking of tubes and the other things that goes bad too fast.

Even the genuine a-bike break sooner or later so it would be good to compare how much inferior that version with the 8" is.

I do support copyrights but if the company don't listen to friendly advice about our needs I at least want to give a verbal reminder that we need a stronger a-bike for us who are born as big.

The answer is No for the genuine A-bike.

However, there're imitations which have 8" wheels.

Installing larger wheels on A-Bike - possible?

Post by TomRider on Wed Jan 23, 2008 10:39 pm

Hello,

I am looking for a folding bike which is very lightweight and easily folds/unfolds. There are so many models out there and the A-Bike is remarkably small when folded, comparing to the other marques I've so far. The only reason I keep looking is the wheel size, 6 is just too small for the type of surface I'd like to ride on... it's a pavement but not super flat and I would appreciate just a bit larger than 6, maybe 8 or so. As a newbie I allow myself to ask if it's possible to remove the 6 inch original wheels and install larger wheels instead? And if so which size is the maximum - can I choose up to 12 inch? I'm curious to know because this way I can keep the benefits of the A-Bike and use it with more confidence around the city.

Thanks and hope to get good news about this!
