Hi, just call me Plaxton is okay, the L is stand for my family surname--Law :)

I think the different weight of the real and fake one is because the matel materials are not the same, You know that's so many "AMAZING" things in mainland China! Maybe the fake bike factory only just copy the design of the a-bike, then use some cheap alloy (maybe not aluminium) to build up a bike.

It's glad to see you here, Plaxtonl!
You're a very nice guy that you always answer our questions on the bicycle forums in Hong Kong.
Everybody respects you on those forums and you deserve for this!

I cannot understand most of chinese, but this is really interesting to see. The fake A-bike they got has a quite nasty crack there...scary

Hi all, I am the one on the left top in the page 2 of the article! I am also the web-master of Bikes sub-forum of Hong Kong Discuss Forum and administrator of HK-Sport Website.

I've got a real A-bike and a fake one for the "spare parts bike"! For two different bikes, the fake one is heavier; it's a round 8 kg, 2.5 kg more than the real one!

Also, the plastic of the frame is easy to break! As you see in the photo in the article, the mount below seat tube was broken by my hand. And the tires of the bike also different. The fake one use a thick Chinese tire the brand call “QING DA”. The tire is difficult to pump into the pressure that recommended. The mean different that you can see between two bikes are the fake one is missing the A-bike logo. And some version of the fake bike call they name is “A-Bicyle”! What a pity copycat…….

Also talk about the price of two bikes. The real one selling in Hong Kong is about HK$2630. and the fake one, just sell at RMB400 in ShenZhen, China.

Here are interviews with the local A-bikers and a professor of physical education who has made comments about the A-bike and Strida on the current issue of Next Magazine in Hong Kong. A brief review of the A-bike and a comparsion between the real one and the fake one are also included.

Of course, the contents are written in Chinese. :P
