Bending it out is not enough.

Post by TarzanABike on Sat Apr 28, 2007 4:29 am

According to Binch's photos of what the "scratching" noise appear to be from the wheels, mine is photo #1. It's the area where that brake cable is attached to the band.

It would seem that bending it a little would solve the problem - well, I did that, but as soon as I hit the brakes it goes back to a similar position and starts scratching.
The other problem with this is that you can only bend it so much. May be there is a better way to bend it, more from the middle of that ring than the end where the brake cable is attached? I'll try it soon, but I think I have to figure out a way for the brake cable to pull up more away from the wheel so that it doesn't pull the scratching so close to it.

No probs with mine so far

Had no problems with them so far.
I just try not to violently break because it slides a bit sometimes.
I tend to use the front one more than the other, as opposed to any other bike. Does anyone do the same?

By the way I just dedicated an A-Bike category on my blog and I am going to have more videos/photos/comments there soon. Check the link on my signature.

It seems to me that the same case is here.. http://abikecentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=224

If you can't solve your problem with this prior case then please show us a photo of yours or more detailed condition.

The brakes scrape!

Dang it -

the breaks scrape against the wheels. I have to half-press the handle brakes to make it stop scraping against the wheels. The pseudo-spring, circle-mechanism brakes are crooked and unless I create a slight tension to make them tighter to close the circle a little bit as it were, they scrape and make an awful noise.

Is this normal for everyone? What can I do to make the things not scrape so much and straighten them out?

:?
