This is correct, the bolts rotate with the wheel. You have to clamp the wheel in a vice to stop it turning to enable you to tighten up both bolts.

Hope this helps
Steve.

I have the same situation with my both a-bikes. So i believe that in your case all is OK.

Look how the drive wheel is connected on the outside which could confirm what you have found out too, that that bolt actually turns around with the wheel.

I felt very surprised too. Hope those who owns an A-bike explains it to us.

How does that work. Usually that is not how bikes are made. :)

rear wheel bolts

Post by etappers2 on Mon Mar 03, 2008 8:35 pm

Hi,
I have just bought a second hand a-bike, with a rear wheel puncture. I have replaced the inner tube, and the put the wheel back on, although I also had to replace one of the bolts as well. However both bolts turn when the wheel rotates which doesn't seem right, although the wheel turns quite happily. Can somebody let me know if this is normal, or do I have to get an exact match for the bolt? Thanks for any info.
